Consultative process between citizens and institutions starting in Bujanovac
On Wednesday, October 22/2014, the project
called «Green Citizens Energy» will be presented in the municipality of Bujanovac (South Serbia)
in a one-day event organized by Civil Society Resource Center and Initiatives. This event will
be an opportunity for government institutions to present their experiences in implementing
programs and policies that aim to solve environmental problems in the Republic of Serbia.
Additionally, on this event projects supported through the SENSE program will be presented
(the projects that have been implemented in cooperation between civil society and local self-
governments). Detailed agenda is attached to this news.
The project «Green Citizens Energy» with a goal of improving the quality of environment and lives of citizens in general will be implemented in the following (10) months (from August 2014 to May 2015) in the area of Bujanovac and Prokuplje municipalities. Project partners (Civil Society Resource Center and Initiatives), along with the help of citizens of Bujanovac and Prokuplje, are planning to prepare strategic documents that will offer clear guidelines for solving local environmental problems. By implementing the project «Green Citizens Energy», project partners are planning to establish lasting mechanisms for advocacy, monitoring and implementing local, regional and national environmental politics, which are in a direct way contributing towards sustainable socio-economic development. The project «Green Citizens Energy» is being implemented with financial support from Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) through SENSE program. The Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe- REC is overviewing implementation of this program in Serbia.
